Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning is for those who hold relevant qualifications, have completed relevant training courses and or have current sufficient industry experience.  This would generally be suitable for candidates with at least a year’s experience in a personal injury management role.

The Australian Qualifications Framework defines RPL as:

Recognition of prior learning is an assessment process that involves assessment of an individual’s relevant prior learning (including formal, informal and non-formal learning) to determine the credit outcomes of an individual application for credit.

The process will involve an initial assessment of your eligibility for the RPL pathway.  This might include:

  • A discussion over the phone or face-to-face regarding your current role, experience, knowledge and skills

  • Review of evidence/documents such as your resume and/or other qualifications or training.

  • Language, literacy and numeracy testing (if required).

Once your suitability for RPL has been assessed you will be required to complete an RPL kit and provide evidence that can help demonstrate the knowledge and skills required by the qualification. Once you have submitted your portfolio of evidence, your RPL assessor will more than likely need to contact you to discuss how you have applied your skills and knowledge in the workplace.

Course Assessment

If you are undertaking the course online or in-house training, you will be required to submit the assessment tasks to your assessor or via the online learning platform.  To achieve the TAEDEL301 Provide Work Skill Instruction learners will need to be found competent in all assessment modules.

If you are following the RPL pathway, once the RPL kit is completed and submitted with required, sufficient evidence, a Procare Group assessor will assess the submission and send the learner the corresponding feedback.
